Account Engagement (Pardot) Consultant Exam Prep Series (2023)

Currently Salesforce offers two certifications for Account Engagement (fka Pardot): Pardot Specialist and Pardot Consultant.

Last year I teamed up with fellow Salesforce MVP Lara Black on a three-part series for the Pardot Specialist exam. She and I have heard from many people both online and in person that the series helped them to pass the exam. That’s exactly why did it, so it was so great to hear it serving the intended purposes.

A couple years ago I participated in a Pardot Consultant Exam Boot Camp Series that was organized by Esha Garg and the New Delhi Pardot Community Group. Now that some time has passed, I decided it was a good time to organize another exam prep series. It is bring hosted by the Tampa Account Engagement (Pardot) Community Group, which I run.

Each section of the exam is being taught by different people who are Certified Account Engagement (Pardot) Consultants and have an active presence in the Trailblazer Ecosystem. The series kicked off in February 2023. As new sessions are completed, they will be uploaded and posted here.

Topic 1 – Evaluation (17% weighted value) presented by Ben LaMothe

 This session will cover the Evaluation section of the Account Engagement (Pardot) Consultant exam. Exam questions from this section have a weighted value of 17% It is presented by Ben LaMothe, Solutions Architect at BDO Digital. 

From the Exam Guide. Questions will relate to the following:

  • Given a scenario that includes an assessment of a customer’s current Salesforce and Pardot landscape as well as business objectives, analyze and make recommendations on a path forward.
  • Design a strategy to identify customer business needs based on marketing trend using currently available tools and methods.  

Topic 2 – Account Configuration (20% weighted value) presented by Brandon Walton and Jermaine Brewer

This session will cover the Account Configuration section of the exam. Exam questions from this section have a weighted value of 20% It is presented by Brandon Walton and Jermaine Brewer from Cypress Learning Solutions. Brandon is a founding partner and consultant; Jermaine is a Salesforce and Pardot Consultant with the firm. 

From the Exam Guide. Questions will relate to the following:

  • Articulate the implications and importance of technical setup.
  • Develop a plan to maintain data integrity during data migration.
  • Given a usage governance plan, develop and recommend a strategy that addresses organization and authorization (or access).

Topic 3 – Automating Business Processes (17% weighted value) presented by Allie Cappitelli

This session will cover the Automating Business Processes section of the exam. Exam questions from this section have a weighted value of 17% It is presented by Allie Cappitelli. Allie is 11x Salesforce Certified and is the Senior Manager of Marketing Operations at Maxio.

From the Exam Guide. Questions will relate to the following:

  • Given a scenario, recommend the best automation tool(s) (automation rule, segmentation rule, dynamic list, completion action).
  • Given a scenario, design a sequence of events in Pardot to complete a marketing initiative (assets, automations, notifications, etc.).
  • Given a scenario, develop and implement a lead nurturing strategy.

Topic 4 – Email Marketing (10% weighted value) presented by Lara Black and Becka Miller

This session will cover the Email Marketing section of the Account Engagement (Pardot) Consultant exam. Exam questions from this section have a weighted value of 10% It is presented by Lara Black, a Salesforce MVP and Director of Marketing Operations at ExtensisHR; and Becka Miller, a member of the Salesforce MVP Hall of Fame and Sr. Consultant at Rostree Solutions.

From the Exam Guide. Questions will relate to the following:

  • Apply email marketing standards and best practices to customer business needs.

Topic 5 – Lead Management (14% weighted value) presented by Jessica Robicheaux and Ayrielle Berryman

This session will cover the Lead Management section of the exam. Exam questions from this section have a weighted value of 14% It is presented by Jessica Robicheaux and Ayrielle Berryman. Jessica is Director of Marketing Automation and Email Strategy at CareerBuilder and Ayrielle is a Salesforce Solution Architect with Digital Science.

From the Exam Guide. Questions will relate to the following:

  • Given a customer scenario, develop and recommend a lead generation strategy including Pardot assets.
  • Given a lead qualification threshold, classify prospects appropriately.
  • Given a scenario, recommend a model to route qualified and unqualified leads across the business.

Topic 6 – Personalizing the Prospect Experience (8% weighted value) presented by Zoe Fisher

This session will cover the Personalizing the Prospect Experience section of the exam. Exam questions from this section have a weighted value of 8% It is presented by Zoe Fisher from Nebula Consulting. Zoe is a Principal Marketing Automation Consultant.

From the Exam Guide. Questions will relate to the following:

  • Recommend ways to personalize the prospect experience.
  • Design a strategy to meet a company’s consent management requirements.

Topic 7 – Reporting, Metrics & Analytics (11% weighted value) presented by Jordan Krizman and Cara Clanton Pope

This session will cover the Reporting, Metrics & Analytics section of the Account Engagement (Pardot) Consultant exam. Exam questions from this section have a weighted value of 11% It is presented by Cara Clanton Pope and Jordan Krizman. Cara Clanton Pope is former Pardot Success Architect at Salesforce; Jordan Krizman is a Pardot Consultant at Mindtree.

From the Exam Guide. Questions will relate to the following:

  • Recommend the technical set-up requirements for reporting and analytics.
  • Identifies reporting methods to solve a given scenario. 

Topic 8 – Salesforce Engage (3% weighted value) presented by Ebony Williams

This session will cover the Salesforce Engage section of the Account Engagement (Pardot) Consultant exam. Exam questions from this section have a weighted value of 3% It is presented by Ebony Williams. Ebony is a Senior Consultant with Slalom. 

From the Exam Guide. Questions will relate to the following:

  • Configure Salesforce Engage for sales use.
  • Summarize the benefits of Salesforce Engage
